According to statistics, China's coal-fired industrial boilers about 470,000, accounting for more than 80% of the industrial boilers in use; annual consumption of standard coal about 400 million tons, accounting for about a quarter of the total coal consumption.
At present, the coal-fired industrial boilers in use in China are mainly chain grates. The actual operating combustion efficiency and boiler thermal efficiency are about 15% lower than the international advanced level. The soot emissions account for 44.8% of the total national emissions, carbon dioxide emissions account for 10% of the total national emissions, and sulfur dioxide emissions account for 36.7% of the total National emissions.
"Coal-fired industrial boilers are one of the major contributors to urban air pollution, and the second largest source of soot pollution after coal-fired power generation." Liu Feng, vice president of China Coal Industry Association, said.
Nowadays, the task of eco-environmental protection in China is increasingly arduous, especially the prevention and control of air pollution has become a major concern of people's livelihood. It is urgent to develop, produce and popularize a new type of clean and efficient coal-fired boiler, which is conducive to saving coal, controlling the total consumption of coal, reducing pollutant emissions and preventing and controlling air pollution. It is also a long-term strategic priority.
According to the preliminary calculation, if all existing coal-fired industrial boilers are upgraded by using pulverized coal boiler technology, they can reduce carbon dioxide by about 500 million tons, sulfur dioxide by about 3 million tons, dust by about 300 000 tons and waste residue by about 30 million tons annually, which can greatly improve the air quality of our country.
At the same time, the pulverized coal fired industrial boiler system has significantly improved the coal utilization efficiency. The data show that the combustion efficiency of the pulverized coal type industrial boiler system is over 98%, and the thermal efficiency of the boiler is over 90%. Compared with the traditional chain grate boiler, the average efficiency of the pulverized coal industrial boiler system is increased from 65% to more than 90%, and the comprehensive coal-saving rate is over 30%. If the pulverized coal-fired industrial boiler system technology is adopted, all the existing coal-fired industrial boilers will be upgraded, about 100 million tons of standard coal will be saved annually, and the energy-saving effect is very significant.
At present, the pulverized coal industrial boiler system has been built in Liaoning, Tianjin, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and other eastern coastal areas, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Gansu and other Western Alpine mining areas. A total of more than 500 sets of pulverized coal industrial boiler systems have been built in more than 20 provinces and cities.
According to the survey report on the development of pulverized coal combustion technology issued by the Northwest Energy Regulatory Bureau of the State Energy Administration, it is estimated that if all industrial boilers (kilns) are upgraded to high-efficiency pulverized coal boilers, 250 million tons of standard coal will be saved annually, 3.72 million tons of smoke and dust, 4.1 million tons of sulfur dioxide and 4 million tons of nitrogen oxides will be reduced.
